Is elave skincare organic or natural?

elave is committed to being a safe, sensitive skincare range. Where possible, we choose certified and naturally derived organic ingredients for all our products including purified water and camomile.  

What about the ingredients in elave that are not organic or natural?

All ingredients are selected to maximise the hydration of the skin and minimise the irritation of sensitive skin. elave skincare is clinically tested on the most sensitive skin to ensure it is suitable for eczema and sensitive skin. 

Is elave suitable for sensitive skin?

The elave range is clinically tested on sensitive skin and is highly recommended by Dermatologists, GPS, Dermatology Nurses and skin specialists for dry sensitive skin and conditions such as Psoriasis, Dermatitis and Eczema.  

Is elave tested on animals?

elave skincare products are not tested on animals.

Is elave suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans?

Yes, elave is free from animal based ingredients including shark oil.

Why is elave SLS/SLES free?

elave skincare is Sodium Laureth Sulfate and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate free because these ingredients were identified as potential skin irritants which can leave sensitive skin dry. SLS/SLES is a harsh foaming agent added to regular skincare products to create foam and bubbles to clean the skin. SLS/SLES is so effective at cleaning it is even added to household cleaning products. 

elave is free from SLS/SLES and instead contains a natural glucose based surfactant to gently foam and cleanse the skin without disturbing the skin’s natural moisture layer leaving skin soft and moisturised. 

Why does elave contain preservatives?

elave skincare is free from parabens, a family of irritating preservatives commonly used in skincare products and toiletries. Instead we have chosen a number of routes of preservation.  

In our elave range we only use purified water, which is tested twice, daily to ensure it reaches the highest pristine standards. This ensures that our formulations are not contaminated and are effectively preserved. 

elave skincare is developed and manufactured in a pharmaceutical environment where our quality standards must comply with the very highest pharmaceutical standards of the Irish Medicines Board. These standards far surpass the Q mark and ISO standards. This ensures that our procedures and raw materials are screened and highly tested before, during and after manufacturing to ensure they meet our highest quality standards to maximise preservation. 

Thirdly, we choose preservatives with the lowest irritancy profile and add the lowest amount of preservative required to preserve elave. Many skincare products contain an array of preservative in significant quantities but with elave we minimise the amount of preservative used in order to minimise irritation.
