Beauty Addicts: How Toxic are you?
skincare October 12th, 2007Well did you see it?

Last night’s Channel 4 launched the groundbreaking programme “Beauty Addicts: How Toxic are you?” with great success. The show was presented by the very popular Sarah Beany who challenged two beauty junkies to dump their regular skincare products in favour of more gentle and chemical safe products. The sisters blood and urine was tested before and after the challenge and the results were amazing.

Most skincare products contain Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLS/SLES), harsh preservatives like Parabens and Triclosan. elave skincare is the ideal skincare range for all the family as the entire range is free from colourings, perfumes, triclosan, parabens, sodium laureth sulfate (SLS/SLES), phthalates, alcohol and formaldehyde which we all highlighted in the show. These ingredients can irritate sensitive skin but some have been linked to even more scary as highlighted in last nights show.
So have your say and post your comments on our blog!

this programme scared the pants off me. i have been aware of parabens particularly and have avoided them where possible for some time. It was proving very difficult for some time, doing lots of investigations in the chemists, until I found elave which is in the shower and yummy body lotion afterwards. I used to get it sent over from Ireland but now it’s in the UK. Absolutely not one drop of parabens in it - great!

Need some advice please, v v interested in buying these products after seeing the C4 programme, but need help on what to buy. Why do they not have a toner? What’s the difference between the derma care products and the originals?
Can anybody advice/help out?
Thanks

I totally agree. It’s also ashame that a lot of the products are described as ‘natural’ as well and you think you are okay. We always try to do the right thing, drink lots of water, breath in fresh air, but if you obsorb toxics into your skin in that manner, it might reverse any benefits we are trying to achieve. jo http://www.lovepureair.co.uk
